A remembrance album compiled by a student at the Westfield Normal School in Massachusetts between 1854 and 1855. The first page features the name of the compiler, "M. M. Weld of Sturbridge, Massachusetts" in elaborate calligraphy. This is probably Mary M. Weld, later Pratt. The sections include "Names of Normal Teachers," "Names of Normal Brothers," and "Names of Normal Sisters." Each person writes their name and a quote or poem along with the date. One of these reads, "Westfield State Normal School. Some of renown have 'neath its shade been crowned with honor true; cheered by the progress they have made seek you for laurels too." Other themes include religion, country, and the teaching profession. "Delightful task! To rear the tender thought, to teach the young idea how to shoot, and pour the fresh instruction o'er the mind." It appears that Mary married Dr. Gustavus Percival Pratt and died in 1924.…
