Oblong quarto, hardcover (slick, full-color illustrated boards), 89 pp. Fine in a Fine dust jacket. From dust jacket: The art in this book should be especially enjoyable to all politicians, lawyers, doctors, teachers, preachers, engineers, scientists, secretaries, union workers and anybody else who ever pays taxes. As the "Will Rogers of American Art," Perez is the most talented artist this century to deal with the politics of society in the style of the old masters. His work will live with that of Daumier, Gillray, Cruikshank, and Kley of centuries past. Perez flips his brush with equal disdain at the fraud, waste and hypocrisy of all branches of government in Washington and at bureaucrats everywhere. At first glance, it may appear that some of Perez's art treats some professions, such as medicine and law, too disrespectfully, but his satire is intended to prod the viewer to question and think about many of the more serious issues today. His art is a mirror irreverently reflecting our reality. Relationships between the greedy and the needy are whimsically exposed by the countless metaphors in his drawings and paintings. Art, Antiques & Collectibles, Americana, America Art, U.S.-iana, American Culture, Political Science, Satire, Political Commentary, Government yslic.…
