Li Daoyuan, commenting on the ancient Han Dynasty Shuijing or Water Classic detailing China's rivers and their histories, developed the original into a far more detailed masterpiece, blending geography, history, and literature. The original Water Classic is attributed to Sang Qin ?? of the Han Dynasty.
