Umfasst 40 Hefte "Die Kunstauktion" und 290 Hefte "Weltkunst". - Gbrsp., einige wenige Seiten durch Feuchtigkeit zusammengeklatscht. - 1927 gründete der Kunstkritiker Walter Bondy das Berliner Wochenblatt "Die Kunstauktion", die am 28. September 1930 durch J. I. von Saxe in "Weltkunst" umbenannt wurde. Thema war der deutsche, aber auch internationale Kunstmarkt, den auch das regelmäßige englische Supplement abdeckte. 1934 übernahm Carl August Breuer die Leitung der "Weltkunst". Er verlegt als Folge der durch die Nationalsozialisten eingeführten "Gleichschaltung des Kunst & Antiquitätenhandels sowie der verwandten Branchen" seinen Wohnsitz nach Paris, wo er mit seinen Freunden den Verlag "Edition Art et Technique" gründete und die Zeitschrift "Beaux Arts du Monde" herausgab. Thema der Zeitschrift ist die Bildende Kunst von der Antike bis zu den Zeitgenossen. Die Beiträge zu Kunstmessen, Ausstellungen und Auktionen sowie Hintergrundberichte beschäftigen sich Kunst, Künstler und Antiquitäten. Die Hefte der 30er Jahre sind von besonderem Interesse, um den damaligen Kunstmarkt überblicken. Walter Bondy war Mitbegründer des deutschen Künstlerkreises der Matisse-Schule im Café du Dôme in Paris und von 1906 bis 1914 Mitglied der Berliner Sezession, danach der Freien Sezession Berlin; 1928 war er einer der Gründer der Zeitschrift Kunstauktion" (später Weltkunst"). Nebenberuflich Kunsthändler für Ostasiatika, schuf Bondy als Maler anfangs Akte, Stilleben, Landschaften, zunächst zeichnerisch aufgefaßt, seit seinem Parisaufenthalt koloristisch an Manet und Renoir orientiert; in späterer Zeit vorrangig Portraits, beeinflußt von der Neuen Sachlichkeit" (AKL). Nach der Machtübernahme der Nationalsozialisten ins Exil gehend, lebte Bondy in dem ihm seit Jahren vertrauten Sanary-sur-Mer, wo er und seine spätere (seit 1937) Ehefrau Camille zahlreiche Exilanten photographisch portraitierten.
