It is alleged that in his forty five years of service he crossed the Alleghenies 62 times, rode nearly 300,000 miles, presided at 224 annual conferences, ordained about 4,000 preachers, and preached between 16,000 and 17,000 sermons. This article includes Asbury's diary entries for those occasions when he was in and around Kentucky, beginning in 1790, and ending in 1815.
