Es reicht bis zu einem neuen Himmel und einer neuen Erde, doch mit solchen unverwechselbaren Handlungselementen wie Freiwilligkeit, Liebe, Frieden und totaler Gottesherrschaft, das die Heilsbotschaft nicht in politische Rechte und Strukturen umzusetzen ist. Die Gebote des Evangeliums lassen sich nicht juristifizieren und so "politisch" anwenden. Das wird am Beispiel der Bergpredigt eindringlich dargestellt. Gleichzeitig gelingt es Rolf Walker zu zeigen, daß Christen "dem Kaiser zu geben haben, was des Kaisers ist". Politik erscheint im Rahmen ihrer Grenzen als vorläufige, sinnvolle Notwendigkeit, wenn sie auch nie "evangelisch" werden kann. His friendship with Chuck Close goes back to 1969 when he acquired the now-iconic "Big Self-Portrait" from Close for the Walker's collection.
