A signature and inscription at the title page; signed "Gigi" and I would like to read this as a nickname of the translator but I find this a slightly improbable variant. A VG+/VG copy: clean, bright and sound book in a bright jacket with a small closed tear to the foot of the front panel.

Añadir al carritoFirst Edition. English translations of The Dramas of Lajos Walder by Agnes Walder. Pp. 304, full page ilustrations; med. v8o; black boards, spine lettered and decorated in silver; dust wrappper; Macmillan, Melbourne, 2007. First edition. *Translations of three plays by the author's daughter. 'Lajos Walder (1913-1945), poet, playwright and lawyer, whose Hungarian pseudonym was "Vandor" or "Wanderer", was well known as a poet in Budapest in the 1930s, but he was never known as a playwright. He wrote his plays in the harshest of circumstances and in secret during the early 1940s, while intermittently serving in a Jewish "forced labour" battalion. He wrote them without the slightest chance of having them published or performed, since by then the works of Jewish artists could not, by law, by published in Hungary' [wrapper blurb].
