Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating realm of artistic creation by individuals with limited vision. Through an in-depth analysis of drawings and artwork by the weak-sighted and blind, the author sheds light on the psychological processes and unique forms of expression that emerge in the absence of full sight. Drawing upon extensive research and personal experience teaching the visually impaired, the author challenges traditional notions about the role of vision in art. This exploration goes beyond the limitations of purely visual perception, revealing the profound influence of tactile and kinesthetic experiences on artistic creation. By examining the developmental stages of children's drawings, the author uncovers a connection between the artistic expressions of the weak-sighted and blind and those of primitive and archaic art. This intriguing parallel suggests a shared reliance on non-visual experiences and a distinct way of representing space and form. Ultimately, this book offers a profound understanding of the creative potential that lies beyond the boundaries of sight. It demonstrates how the human spirit can find powerful and expressive outlets even in the face of physical limitations, enriching our appreciation of art and the diverse ways in which we experience the world.
