Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The original scarce, Centenary large hardback 4to in Very Good to Near Fine condition, dated April 1957, English text. (The first Borsalino came out of the factory on April 4th 1857). White linen boards with titles in black to upper board and spine. Blind impression of "Borsalino" to rear board. Thick card pages, unpaginated. Sepia photo illustrated front end-papers, the picture shows: "the men who, first in the world stitched in a hat this trade mark: Borsalino". Enlargements on the next four pages of parts of the previous picture including the 1865 date- before the Italian capital was there, Borsalino was. Also the founder, Giuseppe Borsalino is present in a fuzzy zoomed pic as the frontispiece. 12 pages of charming hat-related contemporary cartoons and engravings are followed by 20 full page tipped-in colour illustrations (all present and Fine) of hats drawn from fine art and international paintings etc. Many more catalogue pics and contemporary illustrations follow. Finally, there are full-page photos of the staff 'who make it all possible' along with more history of the factory and an amazing three-fold photo fold-out of all the then employees at the factory (about 85cm by 48cm). Imperfections are a small 10 mm tear to the catch-point of the fold-out - not affecting the pic.; a small nick to the upper board and a very small number of handling marks to the white boards. Contents are Fine. A wonderful iconic homage. 20% price reduction now applied. Generously illustrated throughout. (ilustrador).…
