Stunning view book of one of San Francisco's major attractions in the later 19th and early 20th centuries. Includes a plan of the grounds and a portrait of Adolph Sutro (1830-1898) the German-born engineer and mining entrepreneur who made his substantial fortune through his Comstock Lode silver mine in Nevada. He served as mayor of San Francisco from 1895 to 1897. Slight wear to wrapper spine, else about fine.

Spectacular photography of fjords, glaciers, reindeer and tourist steamships including two-page panoramas. The new Bergen Railway features in several. Published for the Norske Lloyd steamship company based in Kristiaina (Oslo from 1925), which was then expanding into marine and fire insurance. Back cover advertisement for the Norway Tourism office in Berlin. Preserved in a clear archival sleeve with acid-free backing.
