The method is based on the unified methodological positions of the three-dimensional thermoelasticity theory. Numerical substantiation of the reliability and accuracy of obtained linear and nonlinear solutions has been performed with the help of the LIRA and SCAD software. Some features of using the software LIRA and SCAD for solving the problems of the nonlinear buckling of shells with stepwise-variable thickness are presented. We consider systems of two kinds: with rigid and soft impacts. We compare two ways of impact simulation and evaluate the possibility of their application for these systems. It is simulation by relations of stereomechanic shock theory and by nonlinear interaction force based on quasistatic contact Hertz¿s theory. We use numerical parameter continuation method for construction the loading curves and amplitude-frequency responses. We find out instability zones, bifurcations, particularly the discontinuous bifurcations which are the dangerous ones. We obtain the periodic, quasiperiodic, chaotic regimes of system motion. We construct Poincare sections, Fourier spectrums, and Lyapunov exponents for confirming the periodicity or chaoticity of obtained regimes. We show how the system parameters modification may change the impact kind in system ¿ from rigid to soft, and how the dynamic characteristics change thereat. Authors found two main routes to chaos ¿ intermittent and quasi-periodic ones. Different ways for detection of the motion kind were given: periodic, quasi-periodic or chaotic. These ways were both usual methods and relatively young mathematical tool ¿ continuous wavelet transform CWT. The usual methods are the construction of phase trajectories, Poincaré maps, Fourier spectra, the largest Lyapunov exponents calculation, and fractal structure watching. But intermittency was ¿caught¿ just by CWT applying. Authors found the transient chaos and have obtained its beautiful Poincaré map ¿ ¿Leaflet de Poincaré¿ which demonstrates well-pronounced fractal structure. Also the peculiarity of the largest Lyapunov exponent estimation for non-smooth discontinuous dynamical system was described. Was given the brief description of interesting phenomena unique for non-smooth discontinuous systems that were observed before. Platform-vibrator with shock used in the construction industry for compacting and molding the concrete products is considered as an unusual vibro-impact system due its peculiarities. Much attention is paid to the creation of a mathematical model and its verification, as well as to the problem of soft impact simulation. The exciting frequency, the technological mass of the mold with concrete, and the stiffness parameters were chosen as control parameters. When these parameters were changed, many nonlinear phenomena unique to discontinuous systems were observed, namely, the chaotic motion, coexisting regimes that were watched in the hysteresis zone under different initial conditions, boundary and interior crises, intermittency, crisis-induced intermittency, transient chaos. To identify the received signals, common tools were used, as well as tools that are used less often, such as the fractal structure of Poincaré maps and wavelet characteristics.
