Front hinge is cracked inside and out. One inch gash to center of front board, smaller tear to lower front. Title on spine in gold over black label between raised bands. Two inches of leather loss at lower spine. Lower fore edge soiled. Leather wrapped to inside paste down is lifting in spots front and rear. Previous owner's bookplate, label and long gift inscription on inside paste down and second free endpaper. First free endpaper has been partially removed. Front and rear endpapers are darkened and chipped at edges from contact with the wrapped leather opposite. Occasional soil and margin notes to text, binding is still tight.
