En 1907, l'auteur se met en tête de reprendre la publication et réimprime le premier numéro (à l'identique pour l'avis au lecteur de 4 p.) mais avec de nouveaux articles et une couverture différente. Ce nouvel essai n'a pas été plus fructueux pour l'auteur qui abandonna définitivement la publication après ce numéro de 1907. Il faut dire que Venner s'attaquait au monopole exercé alors par «Le Naturaliste canadien» qui, fondé en 1868 par l'abbé Léon Provancher, possédait déjà une réputation et une clientèle très solidement établies.
