Racamier Charles Brisset .) et des psychiatres connus par leurs travaux de psychiatrie clinique, de psychopathologie, ou leurs affinités avec la psychologie des profondeurs ou la phénoménologie (Ceillier - Georges Daumezon - Deshaies - Dublineau - Duchêne - Henri Ey - Sven Follin - Fouquet - Laboucarié - Lanteri-Laura - Mignot - Montassut - Pichot - Tosquelles .) qui vinrent en grand nombre participer aux travaux de la Société et publièrent d'importants articles dans sa revue. Il passe ensuite entre les mains de plusieurs puissantes familles, avant de disparaître assez tardivement, entre 1850 et 1890. Mais, grâce à une étude attentive des rares vestiges, et surtout grâce à la richesses des archives privées disponibles, Jean-Marie Jal et Jean Vallet ont pu ressusciter ce grand château disparu du Charolais.
