Uwins Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 20 leaves of printed text, taken from the Repository of Arts c1810-13. with 5 full page plates all hand-coloured of the heroes and villains of the Tyrolean uprising against the French occupation of the country bordering Italy and Germany. The plates have a little offsetting and the leaves have indents from the stab holes from being bound, 3 leaves are browned. the plates are after Thomas Uwins (3 named in plate) the portrait artist, the Hofer plate has been trimmed at base, but by the printers, no loss to image. Very Good. *The text has some variance to the online history, mainly spelling and place names (such as Hoffer and not the single letter F), but mentions some figures not given attribution in the article on the Hero of the Rebellion. He was betrayed and executed by firing squad by the Italian military court on the orders of Napoleon, he later denied giving the order.
