Text block edges foxed with some toning; several small dark stains to bottom edge. Foxing to initial and rear leaves; slight foxing occasionally at margins of interior leaves but otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Co-compiler Dr. Kit Carson's eight-line ink inscription "12 May 1976 To Mother and Dad with so many thanks . . . Kit Carter III" upon the front free endpaper. Book has a 1973 copyright but Library of Congress catalog cites a 1975 publication date (which is likely accurate as the page iii Foreword by General Earl G. Beck is dated Decembre 1, 1974. Mint paperback reprint of a 1943 publication. 114pp. This is the 1943 edition of the pilots instructions for the British Fortress II version of this famous aircraft. It contains many superb illustrations of the aircraft from nose to tail, and a great deal of information which was essential to the safe flying of the aircraft. Unlike British Pilot's Notes which were typed and roneod, this is a full-blooded colour manual of a very high quality. Not to be missed by any air historian.
