Near fine a very good lightly chipped dust jacket. Laid in is a long Typed Letter Signed dated April 25, 1952 from Brahms in London to Toumanova in Los Angeles. Toumanova was filming and starring as Ann Pavlova in the film, Tonight We Sing, which is mentioned in the letter. Brahms mentions trying to get MGM to film her mystery novel A Bullet In the Ballet, and she thinks that sequel novel Six Curtains For Stroganova would have good part for Toumanova. Excellent letter. Tamara Toumanova (1919 Ð 1996) was a Georgian-American[1][2] prima ballerina and actress was internationally as one of the Baby Ballerinas of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo after being discovered by her fellow migr, balletmaster and choreographer George Balanchine. She was featured in numerous ballets in Europe. Balanchine featured her in his productions at Ballet Theatre, New York, making her the star of his performances in the United States. While most of Toumanova's career was dedicated to ballet, she appeared as a ballet dancer in several films, beginning in 1944. She became a naturalized United States citizen in 1943 in Los Angeles, California. where lived and taught.…
