Told by the people who knew him, his lover, agent, critic, etc. "All the bastards were there. if they'd gone through the year book for bastards they couldn't have found a better collection.". A vibrant 1960's Melbourne and Aus, long passed into the history books or forgotten.

The covers are thumbed and a little creased. Some moderate creasing, light scratches and thumbing at the corners, spine and edges. Page edges bear light discolouration and some are foxed. The spiral binding has aged and is discoloured. Along the edge of the binding is written 'Boys in the Island' in black marker.
