Photograph. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: No DJ issued. Format is approximately 6 inches by 4 inches. Black and white photograph of the four members of the band with a brick wall in the background and RAMONES at the top. Tommy Ramone is the second figure from the left and he signed his name across his chest in silver. This comes with A Certificate of Authenticity that this item was personally autographed by Tommy Ramone and was issued by Autographs Galore of Eunice, LA. Thomas Erdelyi (born Tamás Erdélyi; January 29, 1949 - July 11, 2014), known professionally as Tommy Ramone, was a Hungarian American record producer and musician. He was the drummer for the influential punk rock band the Ramones for the first four years of the band's existence and was the longest-surviving original member of the Ramones. In high school, Tommy played guitar in a mid-1960s, four-piece garage band, the Tangerine Puppets, with a schoolmate and guitarist, John Cummings, the future Johnny Ramone.[3][11] After leaving school at 18,[10] he started working as an assistant engineer at the Record Plant studio, where he worked on the production of the 1970 Jimi Hendrix album Band of Gypsys. When the Ramones first came together, with Johnny Ramone on guitar, Dee Dee Ramone on bass and Joey Ramone on drums, Erdelyi was supposed to be the manager, but, even though he never played drums before, was drafted as the band's drummer when Joey became the lead singer. "Tommy Ramone, who was managing us, finally had to sit down behind the drums, because nobody else wanted to," Dee Dee later recalled. He remained as drummer to 1978. The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first true punk rock group. Despite achieving only limited commercial success initially, the band was highly influential in the United States, Argentina, Brazil and most of South America, as well as Europe, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Belgium. All of the band members adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname "Ramone", although none of them were biologically related; they were inspired by Paul McCartney, who would check into hotels as "Paul Ramon". The Ramones performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years. In 1996, after a tour with the Lollapalooza music festival, they played a farewell concert in Los Angeles and disbanded. By 2014, all four of the band's original members had died - lead singer Joey Ramone (1951-2001), bassist Dee Dee Ramone (1951-2002), guitarist Johnny Ramone (1948-2004) and drummer Tommy Ramone (1949-2014). The remaining surviving members of the Ramonesâ"bassist C. J. Ramone (who replaced Dee Dee in 1989 and stayed with the band until its dissolution) and drummers Marky Ramone, Richie Ramone and Elvis Ramoneâ"are still musically active. Recognition of the band's importance built over the years.[8] The Ramones ranked number 26 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time"[9] and number 17 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".[10] In 2002, the Ramones were ranked the second-greatest band of all time by Spin, trailing only The Beatles. On March 18, 2002, the original four members and Tommy's replacement on drums, Marky Ramone, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility, though Joey had died by then. In 2011, the group was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Presumed one of only a few so autographed.
