Black leather binding, gilt crests and edging to boards, gilt lettering and detail to spine, which has raised bands. Scuffing and wear to binding, extensively so to spine, rubbing at edges and on hinges, with bumped corners. Front board and endpaper detached, with endpaper taped to the board. Spine split horizontally a third of the way down and the bottom two thirds are detached at the front hinge end but still attached at rear. Aside from loose board, binding reasonably firm. Endpapers marbled. A little pencil marking and foxing to front endpapers and preliminaries. The odd mark to page surfaces but generally clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. lx + 562 pp. n.

The book contains two title pages: the first one, at the beginning of the book reads "A sermon, delivered at the dedication of the Edwards Church in Northampton, Mass., December 25, 1833" and contains 72 pages. Page 73 the second title page reads:" The Confession of Faith, Covenant, and Principles of Disipline and Practice, of the Edwards Church. in Northampton, Mass." (also 1834) and contains 20 pages. Last seven pages and the book is entitled: Catalogue of the Members of the Edward's Church, january 30, 1834". An extremely rare copy, see photos.

Internally, a previous owners inscription is inked to the top half of 1st free endpage; endpages are age toned with light foxing; and paper has slightly darkened with age, and an occasional smudge. The binding is tight and hinges intact, but cracked at title page. Overall, a near very good copy. .
