The author, Timothy Bright, was a pioneer in the field, and his work on characterie, an early form of shorthand, laid the foundations for the systems used today. The book provides detailed instructions on how to use characterie, including how to represent the positions of words and indicated alterations in pronunciation. It also contains exercises and examples of characterie in practice. As well as its historical significance, this book offers insights into the development of written language and may be of particular interest to scholars and enthusiasts of the history of communication and literacy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
