In this book is a picture of life with the Shan people 30 years before 1945, their way of living under their cheiftains, the Sawbwas, their craftsmanship, their religion, their villages amongst the mountains. No foxing, no toning to text block, quite unusual for a book of this age. Neat original owner's signature inside endpaper pastedown. 176pp. Printed on Wartime Economy Standard paper, which has held up remarkably well.
