Vintage studio still photograph from the 1950 film, showing actors Barbara Stanwyck, Gilbert Roland, and Blanche Yurka. With a date stamp reading 12 AUG 25 50 on the bottom left corner of the verso, along with a Paramount blindstamp. Based on the 1948 novel by Niven Busch. A tense, vengeful Western which owes as much to archetypes of Greek tragedy and Shakespearean drama as it does to the conventions of the genre, following a rancher's strong-willed daughter who seeks revenge on her father for the wrongful hanging of her best friend. One of the few films in the noir canon that is also a Western. Set in New Mexico, shot on location in Arizona. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a small closed tear to the top edge, repaired with white paper tape on the verso. Criterion Collection 435. Pitts 1478. Scorsese, A Personal Journey Through American Movies. Vintage US one sheet poster for the 1975 film. Based on the 1974 novel by Patrick Mann, in turn based on a true story published in "Life" magazine. An inexperienced robber and his friend attempt to rob a bank, largely in order for the robber's girlfriend, a preoperative transgender woman, to afford gender confirmation surgery. Director Sidney Lumet's masterpiece, a snapshot of New York invoking queer politics, city politics, police politics, personal politics, and the mood of a city in the heat of the early 1970s-all without being overtly political. AMPAS holdings show two copies. Shot on location in New York. 27 x 41 inches. Very Good plus, folded as issued, with light wear and creasing along the folds. National Film Registry. Ebert III. Vintage oversize borderless reference photograph of Luchino Visconti and Silvana Mangano on the set of the 1971 film. Mimeo snipe, "Parimage" stamp, and "Camera Press" stamp, on verso. Based on Thomas Mann's 1912 novella. Mann's lonely and obsessed novelist was transformed by Visconti into a composer based on Mahler who travels to Venice for his health and becomes increasingly obsessed with an adolescent Polish boy. The middle film of Visconit's "German Trilogy," an impressionistic, conceptual cycle that begins with "The Damned" (1969) and ends with "Ludwig" (1972). Nominated for an Academy Award and for the Palm d'Or. Shot on location in Venice, Italy. 12 x 9 inches. Very Good plus, with some creasing and two small closed tears to left edge.
