Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of medieval charters related to the history of the Church of Terouanne. They provide valuable insights into the life of a significant religious institution during the Middle Ages, shedding light on its privileges, possessions, and conflicts. Through these documents, readers gain a glimpse into the intricate power dynamics between ecclesiastical and secular authorities, including the interplay between the bishop, archdeacons, and canons of Terouanne and their relationships with the counts of Flanders and Boulogne. The charters also offer details about the acquisition, administration, and exploitation of the church's vast landholdings, as well as the granting of privileges and exemptions. This volume enriches our understanding of the medieval Church's role in shaping the political, social, and economic landscape of the region.
