There are three official orders in Finland, whose Grand Master is President of the Republic of Finland. These are the Order of the Cross of Liberty (1918), the Order of the White Rose of Finland (1919), and the Order of the Lion of Finland. The decorations of all the orders can be given for merits both during peace and war. This book presents these medals and decorations and also those of the Baltic countries. Included is an account of the imaginative and false orders, some of which also function in Finland. The illustrations are intended to clarify the way decorations are used in Finland and are accompanied by captions in Finnish and English to help facilitate the use of this book outside the borders of Finland., Finnish/ English summary, Year2003, Illust.
