Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Good. Large format (36 x 26 cms) volume, bound in cardboard covers with an illustrated jacket in colour. Good in an incomplete jacket. A post-war collection of Bonnard's unpublished work over the previous 15 years, including landscape paintings and pastel drawings in colour and many of his characteristic nu…de sketches. The front panel of the jacket illustration (The Sun) is an original lithograph by Bonnard made especially for this issue of Verve. This is largely complete (just a small loss at the spine and at the bottom corner), but the remainder of the jacket is missing. The card covers are securely attached, but the backstrip is also lost. Internally the pages are clean and unmarked and the colour illustrations are bright with no trace of foxing. The French text is confined to a brief introduction and captions to the illustrations based on Bonnard's contemporary notes. Photos by Brassai. A piece of Art History at a realistic price. More photographs available on request. Please note that if ordering from abroad, any customs charge will be the responsibility of the buyer. All proceeds of sale go to LOROS, a Hospice Charity serving Leicestershire and Rutland.

Añadir al carrito4°. [2] Bl., 66, (1) S. mit zahlr. Abbildungen. Farbig illustr. - Der in Köln geborene Fotograf R. Ubac (d. i. An important issue of this leading journal. Featuring 9 photographs by Raoul Ubac, 4 of which accompany the article 'Miroirs' by Pierre Mabille and 5 of which accompany the article 'Eritis sicut dii.' by Maurice Heine. The issue also contains a photograph by Brassai (after Jacques Berthier) accompanying the article "L'homme qui perd son ombre" by Paul Recht, and reproductions of works by André Masson, Georges Seurat, Hans Arp, Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy, Wolfgang Paalen, Botticelli, Piero di Cosimo and Bartolomeo Veneto. - The Cologne-born photographer R. Ubac (i.e. Rudolf Gustav Maria Ernst Ubach, 19101985) lived and worked in Paris, with interruptions, from 1929 onwards. - "Whilst Man Ray had attempted to dissolve form by placing a prism in front of the lens, Ubac, for his part, believed that matter itself must be made to speak. He developed the idea that, behind the thin veil enveloping things, another reality exists in a latent state. Fifty years later, Dieter Appelt would revisit this principle for his series of superimposed faces. Through the use of controlled chance and the dissolution of matter, Ubac creates a new visual world" (C. Bouqueret in Koetzle). - "Le Minotaure, the last major journal of Surrealism, showcases the movement in its new phase: Surrealism has become a movement whose artistic principles have gained widespread recognition and which exerts an immense attraction on poetic and artistic forces. Le Minotaure is set to become the most lavish, most versatile journal, and the one with the widest reach" (H. Bolliger). - Spine restored, otherwise in good condition. Sprache: französisch.
