Staple-stitched. Condición: Sehr gut. 26 p., Ill. Die Texte sind auf Japanisch. Der Einband ist leicht berieben, ansonsten ein sehr gutes und sauberes Exemplar ohne Anstreichungen. / The texts are in Japanese. The binding is slightly rubbed, otherwise a very good and clean copy without markings. -- Contents -- Comment: Battlefield photos P2 P7 -- A Churchill tank with soldiers advances. This snapshot was taken near Saint-Pyre-Trentenée. The superiority of the Allied forces, including the British, can be seen in the expressions on the soldiers' faces. The white band in the background marks a safe area cleared of mines. The soldiers on the tank belong to the 8th Scottish Fasilian Regiment. -- Churchill Mk IV transports the 17th US Parachute Division -- A Churchill tank drives through Le Tournai. Next to it is a Panzer IV Type F, whose turret was tragically demolished and whose remains have been uncovered. -- Note the caterpillar tracks everywhere. Most seem to still have spare tracks from the Sherman. Both are Mk4s, and the Sherman's 75mm gun is mounted with the gun baffle. -- A Churchill Mk4 advances alongside the infantry taking a break. The infantry, dragging their wounded legs behind them, seem to envy the tank crew. -- A Churchill Mk5 in support of the infantry. The Mk 5 is a close combat version of the Mk 4. -- A Churchill tank approaches the front line, kicking up dust in Normandy. A spare caterpillar serves as protection at the front. Second Army markings can be seen on the front of the vehicle. It is believed to be located near Caen -- The 6th Guards Tank Battalion travels through the Nijmegen Corridor to relieve the 1st Airborne Division in Arnhem. -- The 6th Guards Tank Battalion under the command of Douglas Greenaker on the way to Nijmegen during Operation Market Garden. The vehicles were equipped with various types of tracks at the front, including Panther and Tiger tracks. -- Soldiers repairing a damaged caterpillar during the attack on Villars Bocage. In the background you can see a recovery vehicle whose turret has been dismantled by a Churchill. The tank commander is wearing a helmet and is on guard against air attacks. This snapshot clearly conveys the atmosphere of a battle. In reality, however, the Allied forces had absolute air superiority and should perhaps have taken measures to prevent an accidental bombing attack on the tank. -- A Churchill of the 31st Tank Battalion (7th RTR) advances over a small embankment in a field. The 31st Tank Battalion had been in action since June 26, 1944. -- In this area, the unit took part in Operation Epsom, engaged in combat with the German 12th Panzer Division around Hill 112 and suffered heavy losses. -- A Churchill tank, equipped with a 17-pounder gun. -- 7th Royal Tank Regiment (7th RTR) -- It belongs to the 31st Armored Battalion and the number 991 on the front of the vehicle indicates this affiliation with a white marking in a green square. -- The white diagonal lines represent the headquarters. The main force of this battalion was the Crocodile. Churchills and Shermans on the move along the main road in Passy. -- Churchill tanks of the 34th Armored Brigade of the 2nd Army training in Britain. It is interesting to note that they wear helmets even during training. The helmets used are rimless, just like those of the British paratroopers. The tank crew appear quite calm during training. -- In the next photo, the unit's markings are obscured by mud. Canisters and tarpaulins are placed haphazardly. -- Tank crews inspect their tanks and additional weapons during combat breaks. All five crew members can be seen in this photo. The three in the foreground are disassembling and servicing the 7.92 mm Bea machine gun. The Churchill in the background is a Mk7. -- Churchill Crocodiles support the 4th US Armored Division in the attack on Presto -- A Crocodile with a replacement Sherman track. The Churchill was one of the heavily armored British tanks, but was probably protected by the spare track because it was intended for close combat support. On the other hand, this shows how much the German anti-tank defense frightened the Allied tanks . (and a lot more). ja Gewicht in Gramm: 250. …
