Inspired by the Mazinaw pictographs in Bon Echo Provincial Park, this is a collection of poetry based on the lives of various individuals who lived in this part of the world. Part I focuses on the Indigenous peoples of the area; Part II includes poems about Mary Merrill "the Little Mystic of Belleville" and Billa Flint "lumber baron of limitless greed"; and Part III focuses on the life of Flora MacDonald. Ultimately, MacKinnon has created a "dazzling tapestry of lives and legends, a unique poetic achievement." This volume is in good condition, with some discolouration to the front cover and particularly the spine. There are no significant internal blemishes, however.
