Henrik Nicander (1744-1815), matematiker och astronom. Ehuru av fattig bondesläkt lyckades han med hjälp av informatorstjänster genomföra sina studier och utnämndes 1770 till docent i astronomi i Uppsala. Han efterträdde Wargentin som akademiens sekreterare och, dessutom, dess astronom, i vilken funktion han utgav akademiens almanackor och kalendrar åren 1785-1803. Invald i KVA 1776.
