Stapled. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. The November 1934 issue of the American Magazine. It contains most notably, complete in this issue, Point of Death, an abridged version of Fer de Lance - the first Nero Wolfe novel. This precedes the book publication and can arguably be asserted to be the "true first editi…on" of the Nero Wolfe classic. I'll leave that judgment to the bibliographers & completists. Other articles and fiction include part 2 of 6 of Beauty's Daughter, a novel by Kathleen Norris, part 4 of 6 of The Closed Room, a novel by Clarence Budington Kelland, Fellow Citizens, I Love You, poetry by Ogden Nash, The Corn Planting, an article by Sherwood Anderson, Hero Poison, an article on egos and college football by Paul Gallico, The Next Step in the New Deal, an article by Walter Lippmann, Scattergood, an Interesting People feature of Thomas J Neary, Ruralist, an Interesting People feature of Sherwood Anderson. and others. Light edge wear to the front cover with a .375" closed tear towards the bottom middle of the front cover. Moderate spine roll. Small crease to the bottom corner of page 163 through the back cover. The interior is very clean and fresh. No cutouts or missing pages. A very good copy of a hard to find example of a cornerstone of golden age mystery fiction.
