The boards are covered with blue cloth and stamped with a gilt elephant and black lettering. 842 pages + several blank "Memorandum" pages at the back. The pages have blue borders and black & white illustrations. There are some short tears to the blue cloth over the boards, including on the front cover and the hinges. The lettering on the spine is faded and the cloth is discolored from handling. With bumped and frayed corners on the boards, as well, and light edgewear - the crown/foot of the spine are bumped as well. The endpages have some smudges from handling and there is a 1" tear on the gutter of the front endpapers. Light toning throughout. There is light discoloration from a stain on the lower part of the fore-edge. Page 515/526 has a 1" closed tear on the right edge. An overall very good, clean copy.
