With much difficulty, we finally located the true entrance to the ruins and defeated the magical wards guarding the ancient Phaedran burial chamber. Inside, among other artifacts, I have discovered a crystal-bound tome that appears to have been written by the master Koraq himself! If this book is indeed his Theory of Magic and Anti-Magic, I am certain my understanding of the nature of magic is about to increase greatly. Lost spells and skills, artifacts and magical treatises, tidbits of history forgotten since the days of the Archaens - these ancient secrets have now been brought to light for the first time in the The Archaen Codex. In this book, you will learn the origin of the Black Savants, the technomantic techniques of the Neurians, the summoning spells devised by the magician Mordante, and the nature of the ruins in which these and other wonders of Talislanta's gratest magical era may be uncovered. So pack your research notes; the treasure hunt has begun.…

Shootingiron Design Talislanta (4th Edition) Talislanta (4th Edition) (VG+/EX) Manufacturer: Shootingiron Design Product Line: Talislanta (4th Edition) Type: Hardcover Code: IRN1001 Copyright Date: 2001 Page Count: 502 Please review the condition and any condition notes for the exact condition of this item. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Product Description: What's in the 4th Edition? Plenty. Though the basic mechanics of the game remain largely unchanged, the 4th Edition includes a number of rules fixes and revisions; most minor, though there were a couple of substantial changes as well. Here's a quick checklist: The biggest change from previous editions is probably John Harper's new Magic system, which was rewritten from the bottom-up to make it better-suited to the Talislantan milieu. Though the new system still uses the Action Table, it is much more open-ended and offers several new features that weren't available before. John also re-engineered the mechanics to work as a solely skill-based system, without the need for the now antique level-based system of past editions. This allows players and Gamemasters more latitiude to customize characters and make them more unique than ever before. On the technical end, you don't have to roll dice for damage anymore. In John's revised Combat system weapons and attacks have a set Damage Rating that can vary according to the Action Table die roll. So you only need two types of dice to play now, a d20 and a d10 (or just a d20, for you math-savvy types). Talislanta's numerous archetypes received a much-needed going-over from Adam Sonfield. As a result, both Player-Characters and the Non-Player Characters are a lot more colorful than in the past and are much easier to role-play. Weâve also included over fifty new Sample NPCs for Gamamasters to use in their campaigns. Last but not least was the reorganization of Talislanta's complex and sometimes overwhelming milieu into a more cohesive format. The new Traveler's Guide section handles this admirably, presenting each region of Talislanta along with its cultures, geography, character-types, creatures, flora and fauna in one easy-to-use source. It also marks the return of the wizard Tamerlin, absent from the scene since writing the Chronicles of Talislanta. For the first time since the game's inception, Gamemasters and players finally have a single reference source that covers everything they need to know about Talislanta. And it only took ten years.…

Featuring Rules for the Beastmaster, Buccaneer Bounty Hunter, Gladiator, Harlequin, Knight, Martial Artist, Rogue, Scout, Spy, Swordsman, Warrior and Witch Hunter. As a Player or Non- Player Character. Adaptable to Most Fantasy Role-Playing Games. The Compleat Adventurer is Bard Games third Fantasy Role Playing Supplement, and covers in detail a host of new character classes that may be added to your favorite F.R.P. game system. As a logical successor to The Compleat Alchemist and The Compleat Spellcaster, this supplement is intended to expand the options of experienced players and Game Judges. For the role-player in particular, The Compleat Adventurer offers a variety of colorful and viable types from which to chose. Several of the characters were invested with verbal talents which may be used to great advantage by the clever role-player. To add variety, certain character classes were designed so that the player cou1d choose between several abi1ities, thus creating a more personalized type of character. Others were given abilities of a highly specialized nature, in the hope that players would more easily be able to relate to and role-play them. For the Game Judge, The Compleat Adventurer should do much to add to hi s or her repertoire of N.P.C. villains, heroes and anti-heroes, while hopefully stimulating a few new scenario ideas. The many new character classes should also add variety to city, village, and wilderness encounters, and make the Game Judge's job a bit more interesting.…
