She relates the story of this Irish convict couple and their family. This book commemorates a family reunion that celebrates the 150th anniversary of Bridget's arrival in Sydney Town on the barque 'Minerva' on 26 December 1839. Walter Leonard, who was to become her husband, had arrived two years earlier on the ship 'Neptune' on 2 January 1838. They left behind neither diaries nor portraits, so the pattern of their lives has been reconstructed from documents of public record, such as electoral rolls, birth, death and marriage certificates, land title records, and from contemporary publications and newspapers.
