Hardcover / Hardback. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. First edition. Hardback, 1st edn. Colin Stagg spent 13 months on remand for the brutal murder of Rachel Nickell before the judge threw out the so-called evidence presented by the police. Was he a guilty man who beat the rap, or an innocent fall guy? This book shows how a psychologist, an ambitious police inspector and a seductive undercover policewoman set out to entrap an innocent man while ignoring more likely suspects. It is a story of self-deception, betrayal and wilful blindness by those whom we trust to enforce the law. It is also the tragic tale of how Rachel's family was robbed of justice while a blameless and vulnerable man's life was nearly destroyed by a misguided police operation in a futile effort to 'get a result' - even if it was the wrong result. Illus., Afterword, Appendix and Index. 405pp. lge 8vo. h/back. From the library of true crime writer, Wilfred Gregg, with his personal b/plate. Includes a loosely inserted 'News of the World cutting'. F. in F. dw. A fairly heavy book which will require additional postage if shipped overseas.…
