Añadir al carritoUnbound. Condición: Very Good. Drawing. Pencil, ink and wash. Matted to 8.25" x 4.5" and framed. Signed on verso: "Henry Spille 1851". Label on verso of a known art restorer. Unexamined out of the frame. A little foxing or age-toning, but appears very good or better. Image of two men atop a structure built over water, appear to be sawing wood, presumably assisted by water power. It seems most likely that the artist was an approximately 18-year old German-born man (born 1833) who immigrated with his family to Wisconsin in 1848, later served in the Civil War, and became a successful farmer and held local political offices. A reasonably accomplished and pleasing drawing of men toiling with help from water.
