A packet of colored views published as part of "Nelson's View-books for Tourists" (later [?] re-designated "T. Nelson and Sons' Americ…an Views," priced 25 cents per packet). This printing (an early one) does not have an advertisement on page [16] and the cover title does not include the subtitle "TORONTO TO QUEBEC. There is no title leaf (as per other printings) and the text and plates were published loose in a paper slipcase. Sabin includes the subtitle but gives no date of publication (see Sabin 52322). Over time cover illustrations were changed (and content probably changed too). Not in Cole. Paper slipcase lacks all but the front panel which is chipped at edges; some creasing and soiling to text leaves; the plates are very good. (#167523).
