Illustrated dj is in a protective mylar cover with multiple small tears, chips and creasing to all edges, corners and spine ends. Moderate soiling to edges. Light shelf wear and soiling to covers and spine. Co-written by Rixey Smith who was the secretary to Senator Glass since 1922 and Norman Beasley who is a "experienced and able author". They have combined to "write an exciting and triumphant life of a man was acclaimed on his 80th birthday as one of the great public servants of his age or any other age." There is a gift inscription by Carter Glass and a separate inscription by Rixey Smith on the ffep. There is also a letter written by Carter on United States Senate stationary dated January 5, 1924 congratulating the previous owner on the release of their book The Cathedral Chorister which is tipped into the 1/2 title page.
