Hardcover. Condición: Good+. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. First Edition. Tom Wesselmann (1931 - 2004) was prominent in the Pop Art movement and created Slim Stealingworth as his alter ego. It appears that this alter ego who wrote the biography and insightful analysis of the development of his work. According to the text, this book was the culmination of a ten year project with the publisher. This is a substantial, heavy, oversize book filled with color and b&w plates of many of his iconic works, two of which are folding (there are some smaller b&w and color illustrations and photos as well). The plates cover his work during the 1960's and 70's. The covers are white cloth and there is a tipped in color plate on the front cover. The spine and cover lettering are in black. The white covers have light spotting along a portion of the bottom edge as well as some darker discoloration of the white cloth where the original mylar dust jacket was at one time torn away (see photos). Contains a bibliography, list of exhibitions and collections housing his works, and an index in the rear. The front matter contains a subject listing with page numbers referencing the plates. Two editions were published initially: the first trade edition and a first limited edition. This copy indicates it is a First Edition on the verso of the title page.
