Singer (Hans Wolfgang Singer, a German art historian). The book reproduces Van Dyck's original etchings in Rembrandt photogravure at the full size of the original proofs, with a separate Édition de Luxe featuring carbon print photographs of all the etchings. The subject matter covers the small number of etchings (roughly 15-21) that Anthony van Dyck personally executed, as distinguished from the larger Iconography series in which most plates were engraved by assistants after his drawings.
