After 31 years of trans-Atlantic service, the Queen Mary transitioned to a new life in Long Beach, California, where she became a unique hybrid--sometimes referred to as a floating building or a land-dependent ship. Now permanently berthed in Long Beach, she has remained there longer than her time at sea, with prospects for many more years ahead.
