Comprising of five booklets (each comprising of five pages each) dedicated to five of the predominant Indigenous groups present in Canada (The Indians of the Plains, The Algonkians, Indians of the Pacific Coast, Indians of the Subarctic, and the Iroquoians), text printed in two columns with English, and French, featuring a single work of art unique to each of the Indigenous groups represtened, and each section accompanied with individual cards to which are affixed eight stamps each (for a sum of 40 in total); all housed within a custom sleeve, which is in-turn housed in a "cover" sleeve. Remarkably well-preserved with no detectable flaws to the extremities, contents equally without blemish with bright, clean, and unmarked leaves. Rare to be offered in commerce in this condition, state and complete with all original stamps Overall, near fine. Corresponds to OCLC #901436530 indicating only but one Canadian institutional holding at time of cataloguing. This prestige collection of selected works of traditional and contemporary Indian art and commentary on unique forms of Indian communication has been assembled to enhance the Indian Stamp series issued by the Post Office Department over the past five years. All of the artwork was conceived and produced by Indian artists from the five main cultural groups in Canada. The project was co-ordinated and manuscript researched and written by an Indian from the Six Nations in southern Ontario.
