Die abgefahrene Stadt, dritter Deutschland-Entwurf, Magnet für Kreative, Utopisten, Visionäre, Künstler. Das bleibt in Erinnerung. Bei denen, die mittendrin waren und bei denen, die die 70er und 80er verpasst haben. A…ber das ist nur ein Ausschnitt, die Szene. Heiko Sievers war hier, ist in Berlin geboren und aufgewachsen. War jung zu der Zeit. Und hat seine Stadt und sich selbst darin auch ganz anders erlebt. Eher bedrückt, eingeschränkt, trist. Seine Bilder hat er da gesucht und gefunden, wo der Alltag stattfindet auf der Straße, im Bus, in der U-Bahn. In Gesten und Gesichtern der portraitierten Menschen spiegelt sich eine dunkelgraue Ahnung davon, dass es so nicht weiter gehen wird. Hausfrau, Rentner oder Szenegänger macht da keinen Unterschied. Beeinflusst war Heiko Sievers dabei sicher von Michael Schmidt, in dessen Werkstatt für Photographie er studiert hat. Heute sagt er: In den Bildern von Schmidt und seinen damaligen Schülern fand ich mich wieder. Berlin ausschließlich in Grautönen keinerlei Farbe und wohl auch wenig Zukunft. Er sagt aber auch: Das ist lange her. Seit 1989 hat sich mein Gefühl in und zu Berlin verändert. Berlin selbst hat sich verändert. Gerade deswegen ist dieser Blick zurück so spannend.
