Fort Smith was the government center of the territory, it lies just south of Great Slave Lake and just north of Wood Buffalo National Park in Alberta. The book looks at : `The Early Days', ` The Roman Catholic Mission', `River and Portage Activity' and `Fort Fitzgerald and Halfway House' - among other topics.
