The author traces its origins in the 12th century and explores its evolution through the Renaissance, examining its impact on social customs, gender roles, and literary expression. The book analyzes key courtly love texts, including the works of Chrà tien de Troyes and Marie de France, and discusses the influence of this literary tradition on later writers like Dante and Shakespeare. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this book offers a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of courtly love's historical significance and enduring legacy in Western culture.

Cfr. D.B.I., cit. (con bibliografia). Latino.
