This was dedicated to the B.Phren.Soc. Golden Jubilee 'of which I am the oldest member who assisted in its formation in 1886'. It must be said that uninscribed copies of Severn's works are probably scarcer than inscribed ones, being promoted at his Brighton base. Virtually the last serious U.K. phrenological practitioner. Condición: VG for age. 1st ed. f/piece photo portrait of author+125+2 (notice for authoris Brighton Phrenological Institution with pub.list on verso, 5 text figs; generally tight and clean but f/piece becoming detached at bottom (easily fixed) gutter opening between pp.16/17, a few tannign flecks to top edge and fore-edge, remains internally tight and otherwise clean and unmarked; covers excellent being bright and unworn. A routine run through of the doctrine though the chapter on 'National Heads' is highly amusing (rates the Welsh very highly).
