Each: Ephemera small oblong, good condition, colour drawings (with colour thread, front & rear), pages lightly toned, some edgewear, pencil annotation front cover. Book 2: Pages attached to covers by spine thread, envelope attached to the inside front cover (contains thread and instructional card, but needle and pricking pin mis…sing). Book 3: Pages detached (no spine thread), envelope inside front cover (empty). Each: 4 pp. These two pieces of Australian ephemera are Books 2 and 3 of a series of six illustrated booklets designed to be embroidered with a running stitch by pricking the design, then sewing with the threads. The Semco booklets (published in Victoria) are tutorial guides with colour illustrations designed to be instructional guides. Book 2 is a counting booklet with the numbers 1 to 5 in stitches and a colour illustration. Book 3 is matching objects (a pot plant and a watering can, a bucket and spade, a tennis racket and a ball). The sewing in both booklets have been completed by the previous owner. (No date, but 1930s.).
