So kam er nach Württemberg zurück und gründete in 1826 Esslingen die erste deutsche Sektkellerei. Er war auch an der Gründung einer Baumwollspinnerei beteiligt die, später unter dem Namen "Esslinger Wolle" bekannt, bis in die 1970er-Jahre produzierte. Nach dem frühen Tod Kesslers ging die Sektkellerei in den Besitz seines Teilhabers Carl Weiss-Chenaux über, dessen Nachfahren die Kellerei weiter betrieben, bis sie 2004 Insolvenz anmelden mußten.
