Añadir al carritoCondición: New. xii+621 pp with maps some in colour 2018 N&MP Reprint of Original EditionPublished Price £38 Colonel Nicholson's Canadian Expeditionary Force 1914-1919, is the primary printed source, and the Official History, of the Canadian Armyâs involvement in the First World War.Immediately after the war a first attempt to write an official history was undertaken, but the ill-fated project produced only one volume. Some forty years later Colonel Nicholson, an established military historian, was commissioned to write a single volume, authentic, Official History for the Canadian part in the First World War, it was designed to meet the needs of the student of military history, the author was given full access to official documents. Illustrated with numerous photographs and full-colour battle maps, Nicholsonâs text offers a trusted account of the war effort, while also discussing politics on the home front, including debates around conscription in 1917. This is a worthy memorial to Canadaâs first great expeditionary force.Overseas clients please note: Due to excessively high wrapped weight shipping is weighted on this title.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. ORDER OF BATTLE OF THE UNITED STATES LAND FORCES IN THE WORLD WAR I AEF 2 VOLUMES HQ & DIVISIONS. The Preface explains this book rather well and I will quote a bit of it for your information. This publication.is an Official War Department document prepared by the Historical Section of the Army War College, for the purposes of making available an accurate digest of the principal facts concerning the participation of the larger organizations of the land forces of the United States Army in the first World War (the American Expeditionary Forces- AEF). It presents command rosters of such organizations, tables depicting their daily order of battle, their composition at important periods, and under Record of Events a chronological resume of the principal events regarding the organization and its operations. I am offering the two first volumes of this series, - Volume I devoted to: General Headquarters, Armies, Army Corps, Services of Supply, and Separate Forces, dated 1937, 412 pages, bound in maroon boards with gilt titles in a panel on the cover and spine. - Volume II, about Divisions, dated 1931, 451 pages, black cloth with a gilt title panel on cover and spine. These two books are similarly bound and were published by the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. Neither book has any illustrations although there are plenty of tables presenting the graphics and figures of this presentation. Condition: These two books are both in very good condition. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled in both cases and the gilt titles on the spine of Volume I are darkened and hard to read. Volume II has a bump to the lower front corner. Inside, the former owner, himself an Army officer and apparently one of the compilers of this record (see laid-in War Department Note), has left his signature and date. Those are the only marks I found in the book. All the hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound and square in both cases. These books are not ex-library or remainders.
