Binding lightly soiled, with light wear at the spine ends and a tear at the upper corner of the cover, lower hinge neatly strengthened, good and sound. A manual on physical examinations and measuring (which apparently used to be a thing) for directors of gymnasia. Seaver was the president of the Chatauqua School of Physical Education. Laid in is a 1950 typed letter to the aforementioned psychologist, from Newark, New Jersey rare book dealer G. Nisivoccia, listing four books on "strength" for sale, of which this is one. Nisivoccia calls this an enlarged second editionalthough we do not see that stated in the bookafter a first edition of 1896; *OCLC* seems to note another edition of 1890.
