Schnurrers Vater Friedrich war ein bedeutender Epidemiologe und verfasste für dieses Gebiet grundlegende Arbeiten. - Der aus Vaihingen/Enz stammende Verf. gibt neben den Ergebnissen der genauen Knochenuntersuchung auch Notizen über die Lebensverhältnisse "unserer Cretinin" Louise Margarethe Locher aus Liebenzell (1819-1841). Sein beschreibendes Material hat Schnurrer von Dr. Elsässer, dem Vorstand der geburtshilflichen Abt. des Katharinenhospitals in Stuttgart erhalten.
